The Quick Cam Pro For Notebooks is a stand out in just about every area. It has 2 megapixel capability, a glass Carl Zeiss lens, video resolution up to 1,600 x 1,200 pixels, bundled software that produces numerous effects and the camera operates very well in low light situations using Logitech’s RightLight technology. The Quick Cam Pro is also just about one in the same with the Logitech Pro 9000, which is a darling of most reviewers. The Pro For Notebooks is also smaller and lighter than a lot of its desktop brethren, but don’t for a minute think that detracts from it in any way. This little unit even gives those larger units a run for their money.

After installing the Quick Cam Pro, which is pretty straight forward, you can start capturing video at resolutions of 320 x 240, 640 x 480 and 960 x 720. If you are looking to take still pictures those are also available a number of settings 1.2 and 2 megapixel native and 3, 4 and 8 by software interpolation. Of course the software interpolation will cause the usual degrading of clarity, but not unacceptably so. Now if you get bored and want to change things up try the supplied avatars and special effects. Check it out on the video.

The only real drawback to the Logitech Quick Cam Pro For Notebooks is a short USB cable provided by Logitech, but the rest of its rich features more than make up for this one minor drawback. In my opinion this unit is unsurpassed when searching for a corded web cam.
